SEO, or search engine optimisation, is not the most simple of concepts to grasp.

And hey, here at Ambire, we get that profoundly.

So, we set ourselves a challenge – to define SEO in less than 140 characters.

We’ve done this before for SEO, Social Media and Google Ads’ terms and concepts – but we’ve never been bold enough to go all in and try come up with a definition that short for SEO itself.

But, we are the sort of people who love to go above and beyond.

And, to be honest, we just really miss the good old days when Twitter imposed much stricter character limits on us.

Let’s see if these handy definitions can help you to wrap your head around SEO.

ANDREA – CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

What Ambire does best in Sydney, and Australia for that matter!

Okay … I’ll try better.

Often thought of as a sneaky set of practices to trick Google into displaying your website higher, but its more about user experience!

ASHLEIGH – STRATEGY & CONTENT DIRECTOR

The practice of improving organic, rather than paid traffic, to a website by improving its quality, authority and technical elements.

KARINA – PAID MEDIA SPECIALIST

Working on all elements of a website that Google thinks are important for users, and ultimately getting the page up to Google’s top spots!

ANGELA – SEO SPECIALIST

The practice of improving organic, rather than paid traffic, to a website by improving its quality, authority and technical elements.

CHLOE – JUNIOR SEO SPECIALIST

What we do all day long! (Does that count?)

No, seriously though …

Improving backlinks, producing killer content, cleaning up technical errors, focusing on specific keywords – just following Google’s rules!

LOTTIE – CONTENT WRITER

A set of practices to improve a site’s ranking when users search for relevant terms – including quality, authority and technical aspects.

Okay – that was trickier than we had hoped! Turns out it might just be easier for us to show you what we mean, rather than tell you.

Check out our SEO services page where we go into much more detail about what SEO really is, and what we can do for your business.

Trust us – it’s much easier to explain when we have more than 140 characters to do so.
